Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano Erupts, Alert Level Raised

Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has erupted once again at the summit crater, prompting the US Geological Survey (USGS) to raise the alert level to warning. The eruption started on Sunday afternoon, with lava remaining within the caldera and the edge of the Halemaumau crater.

Authorities have stated there is no immediate danger to nearby communities, but the situation is dynamic, and hazards are being assessed. All activity is currently confined to the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. Kilauea is known for being one of the most active volcanoes on Earth and is closely monitored by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.
