Hazlewood Confident of T20 World Cup Return

Sydney: Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has said he is confident of being fit in time for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Sri Lanka next month, despite struggling with injuries during the summer.

Hazlewood missed the Ashes series after suffering a hamstring strain at the start of the England tour. While recovering, he also faced an Achilles injury, which delayed his return to competitive cricket.

Because of these injuries, the 35-year-old pacer will miss the remaining matches of the Big Bash League. He is listed as a supplementary player for the Sydney Sixers but will not take part in the later stages of the tournament. He will also miss Australia’s T20I series against Pakistan scheduled for later this month.

Hazlewood is now focusing on regaining full fitness and is aiming to play a warm-up match in early February, just before the T20 World Cup. He said he is confident that he will be ready to represent Australia when the tournament begins.
