Hyderabad, Hussain Sagar’s two more gates opened
State Minister T Srinivas Yadav inspected the vicinity of Hussain Sagar and announced the release of 2,000 cusecs of water from the lake. Two more gates of the Himayat Sagar reservoir were opened to release water into the Musi River due to huge inflows. The reservoir gates were opened to release excess water for the first time this season.
Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar twin reservoirs continued to receive inflows from continuing rains in the catchment area for the last four days. The inflows in Himayat Sagar stood at 3,000 cusecs on Saturday noon. The authorities were releasing 2,750 cusecs into the Musi River, which flows through the city. The water level in Himayat Sagar was at a Full Tank Level (FTL) of 1,763.50 feet (2.970 TMC). Osman Sagar received 900 cusecs inflow from the upstream.
