Imran Khan’s Wife Expresses Concerns About His Safety in Jail

Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has raised apprehensions regarding her husband’s security and safety while incarcerated in Attock jail. In a letter addressed to the home secretary of Punjab province, she emphasized that Imran Khan could potentially be poisoned in his current confinement. She urged authorities to transfer him to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi as per the court’s directions.

Imran Khan was imprisoned after being sentenced to three years in jail in the Toshakhana case, related to the sale of state gifts he received during his prime ministerial tenure. His wife requested B-class facilities in prison due to his social and political status, mentioning his education at Oxford and his former role as captain of the national cricket team. She expressed concerns about his safety given past assassination attempts and highlighted the lack of home-cooked food options in Attock jail.
