India to Support Peace in West Asia: PM Modi in UAE

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed India’s readiness to support peace in West Asia during his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday (May 15).

Modi arrived in the UAE as part of his five-nation tour, which also includes visits to four European countries. He condemned attacks targeting the UAE, which has faced Iranian strikes amid the ongoing conflict involving the U.S. and Israel.

Modi praised the UAE’s restraint in handling the situation. “The way the UAE has been targeted is unacceptable,” he said, but noted that “the UAE’s response has been commendable.” He highlighted how the West Asian conflict is affecting the global community and emphasized India’s commitment to supporting peace efforts in the region.

Upon arrival, Modi was greeted by the UAE President at Abu Dhabi Airport, showcasing the importance of his visit. A guard of honor was also organized for him.

In a social media post, Modi thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the warm reception and expressed optimism about their discussions to strengthen ties between India and the UAE in areas like energy, investment, and supply chains.
