India’s First Long-Range Revolver ‘Prabal’ Set to Launch
India’s first long-range revolver, named ‘Prabal,’ is set to be launched on August 18. Manufactured by the state-owned company Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, this lightweight 32-bore revolver has a range of up to 50 meters, double the range of other revolvers. Notably, ‘Prabal’ is the first revolver in India to have a side swing cylinder.
AWEIL’s director A.K. Maurya stated that the revolver’s features are similar to the Webley Scott revolver. The booking for ‘Prabal’ will open on August 18, and civilians with a license can purchase it. AWEIL, which manufactures defense products, has received orders worth Rs 6,000 crore this year, including an order for 300 ‘Sarang’ cannons from the Indian Army and orders from European countries.
