Iran Rejects Second Round of Peace Talks with U.S.
Iran has denied agreeing to another round of peace talks with the United States. This directly contradicts President Donald Trump, who claimed that American negotiators would travel to Pakistan tonight for discussions.
According to Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, Washington’s demands were too excessive and unrealistic. Additionally, Iran cited the U.S. government’s shifting positions and contradictions as reasons for refusing the talks. The ongoing naval blockade by the U.S. was also described as a violation of ceasefire conditions.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has closed the Strait of Hormuz. Commercial ships are now required to obtain explicit permission and follow approved routes set by the Guard. Vessels approaching without clearance have been warned that they could face targeting.
