Is Bengaluru Ready for Summer 2026 After the 2024 Water Crisis?

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that summer 2026 in Bengaluru will be hotter than usual. This has raised concerns about extreme heat and possible water shortages in the city.

Bengaluru has already faced serious water problems in recent years, especially during the 2024 crisis. Because of this, many residents are worried about whether there will be enough water this summer.

To address these concerns, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has assured people that there is enough water available in the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam (KRS) and Kabini Dam reservoirs. These are key sources of water for the city.

Officials also said that they have taken extra steps to manage groundwater shortages in some areas. These measures are aimed at making sure households receive a steady and reliable water supply, even during the hotter months.

Overall, while the summer is expected to be intense, authorities say they are prepared to handle the situation and reduce the impact on residents.
