Jaguars’ RB Tuten Out of Practice Due to Illness

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten missed Wednesday’s practice after feeling ill. The second-year player sat out as the team prepares for their season opener against the Cleveland Browns on September 13.

This absence is not a major concern, as Tuten has time to recover before the game. With 11 days left until kickoff, he should be back in action soon. Head coach Liam Coen has emphasized that the Jaguars will use a committee approach in the backfield, with Tuten sharing carries alongside Chris Rodriguez Jr and LeQuint Allen.

Tuten’s role as a key player in the team’s offense was highlighted last season when he ran for 307 yards and five touchdowns. His speed and ability to follow coaching instructions have earned him praise from Coen. However, his workload is expected to be shared, meaning he won’t carry the ball every down.

Rodriguez is likely to handle the short-yardage and goal-line situations, while Allen will focus on passing downs when healthy. Tuten’s main challenge is to maximize opportunities for big plays rather than relying on a high volume of carries.

Wednesday’s absence was minor given the time remaining before the game. The Jaguars are confident Tuten will be ready to contribute when they face the Browns at EverBank Stadium on September 13.
