Jaishankar Urges India–France Cooperation for Global Stability

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has said that India and France need to work closely together to help bring stability to global politics, especially at a time when the world is facing growing geopolitical tensions and divisions.

Dr. Jaishankar made these remarks during a meeting with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, in Paris yesterday. He said that France is one of India’s oldest and most trusted strategic partners, and cooperation between the two countries is very important in the current global situation.

The External Affairs Minister said that regular dialogue and continuous communication are essential to strengthen and maintain the strong relationship between India and France. He stressed that open discussions help both countries better understand each other’s views on global and regional issues.

Dr. Jaishankar also pointed out that India is chairing the BRICS grouping this year, while France is leading the G7. He added that both countries are also members of the G20, which gives them more opportunities to work together on important international issues.

During the meeting, the two ministers also discussed preparations for French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India next month. President Macron is expected to attend the AI Summit in India, and the meeting focused on ensuring a successful and productive visit.
