Karnataka Police Identify Caller Behind Threats to DIG Prisons

Karnataka Police have made significant progress in the case involving threat calls made to DIG Prisons (North Range) T.P. Sheha. The caller had issued threats to blow up the central jail in Parappana Agrahara, located on the outskirts of Bengaluru, and the Hindalga Central Jail in Belagavi. Additionally, the caller had threatened Sheha, mentioning knowledge of underworld figure Bannanje Raja and implying a connection to the prison system. DIG Sheha registered a case with the Belagavi rural police station, prompting a serious investigation.

The police successfully traced the calls to their source and identified the accused as 48-year-old Kiran Moshi, residing in Hukkeri in Belagavi district. Currently, in Bengaluru, the accused will be apprehended shortly. The investigation revealed that the accused had hacked an account and posted a vulgar video on social media, leading to his arrest and a 10-day imprisonment at the Belagagi Hindalga prison.

The accused had obtained the senior police officer’s number from Just Dial and used a SIM card registered in his wife’s name to make the threatening calls. Initially, it was believed that the calls originated from Bengaluru Central Jail and Hindalga Central Jail, but this has been debunked.
