Moopanar Flyover Alleviates Traffic Woes, but Challenges Remain
The Moopanar Flyover has indeed brought some relief to traffic congestion in the Turnbulls Road-Chamiers Road junction area, diverting two-wheelers and light vehicles bound for Anna Salai. However, despite this improvement, challenges persist, especially during peak hours when long lines of vehicles still wait at the signal due to the presence of nearby schools and commercial establishments.
Additionally, the junction’s significance has increased with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s residence nearby, leading to continuous traffic flow from early morning till late at night. While the remotely controlled traffic signal system has improved regulation, the public advocates for pedestrian pathways and further efforts to decongest adjoining junctions for smoother traffic flow throughout the area.
