New Parking Lot Created on Ekambareswarar Temple Land in Kancheepuram
Kancheepuram town in Tamil Nadu has introduced a new parking lot on the land of Ekambareswarar temple at Venkatadriraja Thottam. This parking space can accommodate around 200 vehicles, providing relief to visitors and residents struggling with congestion due to limited parking options.
District Collector Kalaiselvi Mohan highlighted the need to decongest the town, especially on auspicious wedding days when a surge of visitors flocks to the area for shopping. Additional empty plots have been identified for potential parking lots, and signboards will be installed to guide motorists. Superintendent of Police M. Sudhakar mentioned plans for an app linking parking lots and exploring online payment options for added convenience.
