Nirmals Eye Hospital Declared as Centre for Quality Promotion by CAHO
Chennai, December 2018: Consortium of Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) of all National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare providers (NABH) accredited hospitals has identified Nirmals Eye Hospital, Chennai as a Centre for Quality Promotions (CQP). With the identification of Nirmals Eye Hospital, Chennai as CQP, it will able to provide support for other hospitals to get NABH accreditation.
CAHO is a platform of all accredited hospitals to promote the quality and safety of healthcare services in India. CAHO has chosen Nirmals Eye Hospital, Chennai to function as CQP, only the third eye hospital in India.
To commemorate the Launch of Centre for Quality Promotion, a three day training programme called certified professional for quality in health and a Seminar on Patient safety and Quality in health was conducted for the Doctors and health professionals at Nirmals Eye Hospital.
Dr.T.Nirmal Fredrick, Managing Director, Nirmals Eye Hospital said, CAHO has now recognized Nirmals Eye Hospital as a centre for Quality Promotion, a huge honor being only the 3rd eye hospital in India and 7th such Hospital in whole of Tamil Nadu. Nirmals Eye Hospital will be a nodal centre for training and mentoring other hospitals to get into the journey of quality implementation leading to accreditation. Nirmals Eye Hospital will also help the already accredited hospitals in their journey of quality beyond accreditation.
He added, I am also happy to release my book “Accreditation of Eye Centres” during this event. This book will be a guide to all eye hospitals starting on their journey of patient safety, quality and accreditation.
The Regional Head of CAHO, Mr.Sameer Mehta, Director, Mehta Hospital Chennai, Dr.LalluJospeh, Treasurer – CAHO and Dr.Anuradha P, Tamil Nadu Representative, CAHO has inaugurated the centre and issued the certificate of recognition to Dr.T.Nirmal Fredrick, MD and Dr.Sunitha Fredrick, MS of Nirmals Eye Hospital.
