North Coastal A.P. Braces for Severe Heat Wave

As the Election Commission of India gears up for the general election notification, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh faces a dire warning of “severe heat wave” conditions. With 62 out of 76 mandals in the region expected to endure scorching temperatures, concerns heighten over potential health hazards amid the soaring heat.

The severity of the heat wave, characterized by significant temperature deviations, amplifies challenges for residents and authorities alike, particularly in districts like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Parvathipuram-Manyam. Despite the widespread impact, relief may be in sight as the APSDMA anticipates a slight alleviation in heat wave intensity the following day. However, with records of soaring temperatures exceeding 43 degrees Celsius and widespread heat wave incidents, the situation underscores the urgency for proactive measures to mitigate the heat’s adverse effects on public health and well-being.
