Notorious Cattle Smuggler Arrested After Exchange of Fire in Mirzapur
Ajit Paswan, a notorious cattle smuggler with a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was arrested in Mirzapur district after an exchange of fire with the police. Acting on information about criminal movement, a joint team of Rajgarh police and the Special Operation Group (SOG) cordoned off the Rajgarh road. During a check, Paswan, riding a motorcycle, attempted to evade the police, opening fire when signaled to stop.
In the ensuing exchange, he sustained bullet injuries in the leg and was apprehended. The police recovered a country-made revolver, live cartridges, a motorcycle, a mobile phone, and cash from his possession. Paswan faces multiple cases of cattle smuggling in Rajgarh and other districts.
