Panchayat President Arrested for Attempted Murder
In a shocking turn of events, M.K. Ramesh, the president of Ulundhai Panchayat in Kadambathur Union, Tiruvallur district, has been arrested for attempting to murder a staff member of a private firm. Allegedly, Ramesh tried to strangle K. Chinnamuniyandi and attacked him with a chair during a visit to the panchayat office.
The incident occurred when Chinnamuniyandi, along with a colleague, went to explain a tax demand letter. After escaping the assault, Chinnamuniyandi filed a complaint with the Mappedu police, leading to Ramesh’s arrest and subsequent remand to judicial custody for 15 days.
