In a positive development, parts of Semmencheri and Neelankarai in Chennai are set to receive piped water supply within the next two years. The implementation of a water supply scheme, amounting to ₹66.67 crores, will address the long-standing demand for piped water in Neelankarai.
This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 34,100 residents in the area. Additionally, by December 2025, piped water supply will be extended to nearly 51,000 individuals residing in Semmencheri. The project aims to improve access to clean and reliable water for these communities, ensuring a better quality of life.
The timely execution of the scheme will play a crucial role in meeting the water requirements of these regions in Chennai.
