Power Outages Persist in Central Chennai Despite Receding Waters

While Central Chennai witnessed a reduction in water stagnation on Wednesday after Cyclone Michaung, many areas continued to grapple with a lack of electricity. Residents took to the R.K. Mutt Road, demanding the restoration of power and swift action to clear waterlogged streets. Mylapore MLA Dha. Velu intervened, promising to address the issue, but frustrations lingered as residents reported delayed resolutions.

In Arumbakkam, residents blocked Razack Garden Main Road, seeking immediate flood relief. Although water receded in Mandaveli, Teynampet, and T. Nagar, areas like Saidapet faced prolonged flooding, prompting residents to relocate temporarily. Despite Thyagaraya Nagar returning to normalcy with most retail shops resuming business, subways like Duraisamy and Rangarajapuram remained closed, harboring heaps of garbage.

Some parts of West Mambalam experienced water stagnation and power cuts, with officials actively working to restore power and alleviate the lingering impacts of the cyclone.
