PTI Supporters March Toward Islamabad on September 27

Supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will march toward Islamabad on September 27 unless justice is served for the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned. This announcement was made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi during a public gathering of PTI supporters in Peshawar.

Afridi addressed the crowd on August 5, 2026, as Khan completed three years in prison. He outlined two main demands: that legal cases against Khan and his wife be resolved fairly and that Khan be allowed to meet with his legal team, doctors, family, and party leaders. Afridi claimed that if justice is delivered, Khan could be released within 30 minutes; otherwise, supporters from across the country will march to Islamabad.

The PTI leader emphasized that the party seeks justice through constitutional and democratic means, including peaceful protests. He highlighted Khan’s popularity by noting the large turnout of supporters from provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.

Afridi alleged that Khan has been held in solitary confinement and his family mistreated during visits. He criticized the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, which he claims have weakened the judiciary and allowed political interference in legal processes. These amendments include limiting the chief justice’s tenure and creating a new constitutional court.

Afridi repeated PTI’s stance that Khan was removed from power through an “external conspiracy” with internal collaborators after refusing to compromise on Pakistan’s sovereignty. He also accused the current government of causing economic decline, rising terrorism, and damaging relations with neighboring countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and China.

The chief minister vowed to resist any attempts at dynastic rule and lead the march toward Islamabad if justice is not served by September 27.
