Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Assam Government During Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing critique of the Assam government as his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra progressed into the state. Accusing it of being the most corrupt in the country, Gandhi emphasized the BJP-RSS’s alleged perpetuation of injustice on political, social, and economic fronts across states. The Yatra, marked by a ceremonial flag-handover in Sivasagar district, aims to unite people, drawing parallels with the efforts of the revered Assamese saint Srimanta Sankardev.

Gandhi highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s absence in Manipur amidst civil conflict and questioned the status of the framework agreement in Nagaland. Expressing hope for a positive response in Assam, the senior Congress leader, along with Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, stressed the Yatra’s role in instilling hope among the people. The ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, covering 17 districts in Assam over eight days, follows its commencement in Manipur and a stop in Nagaland.
