Rajinikanth Pays Tribute to R.B. Choudary
Veteran Tamil film producer R.B. Choudary, father of actors Jiiva and Ramesh Choudary, tragically passed away at the age of 74 after a road accident in Rajasthan on May 5.
R.B. Choudary was one of South India’s most respected film producers and had produced nearly 100 films across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema through his production banner.
Over several decades, he played an important role in shaping the careers of many leading stars and contributed significantly to the South Indian film industry.
His mortal remains were brought to Chennai, where many leading actors and film personalities visited to pay their final respects.
Prominent stars including Suriya, Dhanush, Karthi, Mammootty, and Vijay paid tribute to the late producer.
On Thursday morning, superstar Rajinikanth also visited to offer his condolences.
While speaking to the media, Rajinikanth shared an emotional memory about his friendship with R.B. Choudary.
He said that although they had never worked together on a film, Choudary was a close personal friend.
Rajinikanth recalled that about four months ago, during the shooting of “Jailer 2,” Choudary visited him on set and spoke about his dream of producing his 100th film before retirement.
According to Rajinikanth, Choudary told him that he had listened to three different stories and wanted Rajinikanth to star in his landmark 100th production.
Rajinikanth said he had promised to act in that film, making Choudary’s sudden death even more heartbreaking.
The film industry has widely mourned his loss, remembering him as a visionary producer, respected businessman, and beloved friend.
