Russia’s Military Exercise with Tactical Nuclear Weapons

In response to perceived threats from Western officials, Russia has announced plans for a military exercise involving the use of tactical nuclear weapons. Ordered by President Vladimir Putin, the exercise aims to test the readiness of non-strategic nuclear forces. The drills will include preparations and deployment for the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, with participation from missile formations in the Southern Military District and naval forces.

According to the Russian defence ministry, the exercise is intended to ensure Russia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. This move comes amid escalating tensions between Russia and the West following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation.
