Sanju Shares Thoughts After Key 87 Against Delhi Capitals
New Delhi, May 6 (ANI): After helping Chennai Super Kings win against Delhi Capitals, Sanju Samson opened up about his desire to score his third century of the season. However, he found more satisfaction in securing the victory for his team without getting out.
Samson has been inconsistent this season but has proven to be a key player in CSK’s wins. In 10 matches, he has scored 402 runs at an impressive average of 57.42 and strike rate of 167.50, including two centuries and one half-century. In matches where his team has won, Samson has been particularly effective, scoring 362 runs in five innings with a remarkable average of 181.
During the post-match presentation, Samson discussed his calm approach while batting and how he adjusts to different bowlers. He explained that staying composed is part of his nature but feels more visible when he’s actively playing.
Reflecting on missing out on his third century, Samson said hundreds are always special but emphasized that winning the game brought him greater joy. He remains hopeful about scoring more centuries in upcoming matches.
In the match, Delhi Capitals chose to bat first and struggled, losing early wickets to fall to 69/5. A strong partnership between Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi helped them reach 155/7 after 20 overs. In response, Sanju and Kartik Sharma led CSK’s chase, with Sanju scoring an unbeaten 87 and Kartik contributing 41 to help the team win comfortably in just 17.3 overs.
