SCPCR Chairman Conducts Surprise Inspection of Vijayawada Bala Sadan

The Chairman of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR), K. Appa Rao, conducted an unannounced visit to the government-run children’s home Bala Sadan in Vijayawada on March 4. During the inspection, he reprimanded officials for the inadequate maintenance of the staff attendance register and questioned the absence of some staff members.

Mr. Appa Rao examined various facilities within the home, including dormitories, toilets, kitchens, and storerooms, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. He urged staff to ensure the quality of food provided to the children and take measures to address any issues such as mosquito infestation. Additionally, he checked the functionality of CCTVs at the Kamala Nehru Government Working Women’s Hostel situated on the same premises.
