Security Guard at Chennai Toll Plaza Killed by Speeding Truck; Driver Arrested

A tragic incident occurred at the Mathur toll plaza in Chennai on October 3, 2023, as a 65-year-old security guard lost his life after being struck by a speeding container truck. The victim, Jaiprakash, was working as a traffic regulator at the toll plaza when he attempted to stop the truck, which was moving at a high speed.

The truck driver swerved and collided with Jaiprakash, resulting in his immediate death. Despite the initial attempt to flee, the truck driver, identified as Prabhu from Tirukoilur, was later detained near the Madhavaram roundtana by the Madhavaram traffic patrol team. The Red Hills Traffic Investigation wing police have filed a case, and the investigation is ongoing.
