Sharad Pawar Accuses BJP of Being a “Washing Machine” for Corrupt Individuals

Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), likening it to a “washing machine” where individuals facing corruption charges can join and be cleansed. Pawar accused the BJP-led government of targeting non-BJP chief ministers, alleging selective persecution. He highlighted instances where individuals accused of corruption joined the BJP and became members, questioning the party’s integrity. Pawar also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance on corruption and his criticism of leaders like Nehru.

Additionally, he expressed discontent with Modi’s promises, alleging a failure to fulfill commitments like doubling farmers’ income. The NCP founder also addressed internal party issues, warning against threats to party workers and emphasizing the need for unity. Despite allegations against NCP MLA Sunil Shelke, Pawar urged for verification of claims before making accusations. He also welcomed new members into the party fold, signaling ongoing political dynamics within the NCP.
