Subway at Dharga Road Faces Dumping Woes

Despite serving as a crucial link between Zamin Pallavaram, Keelkattalai, and GST Road, the subway on Dharga Road has turned into a dumping ground, with garbage and sewage accumulating within. Residents are urging the Highways Department to collaborate with the Tambaram Corporation for regular garbage removal. Officials attribute the sewage influx to local eateries and residents and pledge to address the issue by coordinating with the local body.

Additionally, plans are underway to upgrade the service road to a more durable surface, either a bitumen or cement-concrete road. Meanwhile, concerns are also raised about the Narayanapuram lake’s flood buffer function being compromised due to a clogged drain, prompting residents to call for Corporation intervention to clear the garbage-filled drain.
