A suspected suicide blast near a mosque in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has killed at least 52 people, including a police officer, with around 50 others injured. The incident occurred as people gathered for a religious procession marking Eid Milad-un-Nabi near the Madina Masjid in Mastung district. The number of casualties was initially reported higher due to double entries from two hospitals, but the actual number of injured is approximately 50.
Those critically injured are being transferred to Quetta, and the provincial government will bear the expenses for their treatment. This is the second major blast in Mastung in the last 15 days, highlighting the region’s vulnerability to terror attacks, with previous incidents involving political leaders, law enforcement officials, and healthcare workers.
