Tambaram Police Meet IT Firms for Employee Safety

The Tambaram City Police recently held a meeting with representatives from major IT companies to discuss measures to improve employee safety across the city’s IT corridors.

The meeting was led by Police Commissioner Prem Anand Sinha, who stressed the importance of stronger cooperation between the police and IT companies to address safety and security concerns.

Key issues discussed included women’s safety, cybercrime prevention and emergency response. Police officials highlighted the need for secure transportation for employees working late shifts, adequate lighting at pickup and drop-off points, and faster reporting of incidents.

Traffic management near major IT corridors was also discussed, with officials exploring ways to reduce congestion during peak hours. The police also encouraged companies to create greater awareness among employees about online scams and digital fraud.

Officials highlighted initiatives such as Kaval Udhavi and the Singappen Special Force, which are aimed at improving public safety and providing support during emergencies.

IT companies were asked to appoint designated officers to coordinate security matters with the police. They were also encouraged to establish emergency contact numbers and cooperate with authorities on CCTV monitoring, safety awareness programmes and incident reporting.

Commissioner Prem Anand Sinha stressed that continued cooperation between the police, IT companies, employees and transport operators is essential for creating a safer working environment across Tambaram’s growing IT corridor.
