Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Criticizes PM Modi’s Comments on Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Statement

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for commenting on Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement without thoroughly examining the facts. Stalin defended his son Udhayanidhi’s remarks about “inhuman practices in Sanatan Dharma,” stating that they echoed the concerns of social reformers like Thanthai Periyar, Mahatma Gandhi, Sree Narayana Guru, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Vallalar, and Vaikuntar.

He asserted that these reformers had opposed regressive ideologies that justified discrimination based on birth and the oppression of women. Stalin clarified that Udhayanidhi spoke against such oppressive ideologies and called for eradicating practices based on them.

He accused pro-BJP forces of distorting Udhayanidhi’s statement and claimed that the Prime Minister’s response was an attempt to divert attention from his government’s failures. Stalin also suggested that the BJP was more interested in creating divisions within the opposition than addressing the issues in Sanatan Dharma.
