Tea Awareness Meets Health Awareness at Anna Nagar Tower Park: An Initiative from Tea Board of India, Bringing Genuine Tea and Healthy Choices Closer to the Community
An engaging public awareness campaign focused on the benefits of tea, consumer awareness and healthy living received an encouraging response from visitors, bringing together informative interactions, free health screenings and the opportunity to experience authentic tea.
The campaign was designed to educate the public about the nutritional and health values of tea, while highlighting the importance of identifying genuine tea products and being aware of adulterated or substandard tea.
One of the key highlights of the campaign was the awareness created around the Tea Mark, a certification associated with the Tea Board India, which helps consumers identify genuine tea and understand the importance of quality standards when making their purchase decisions.
Visitors were encouraged to understand the significance of checking for the Tea Mark and to become more informed consumers. The interactive nature of the campaign helped communicate these messages in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
Adding a strong health dimension to the initiative, visitors were also offered free basic health check-ups, including Blood Pressure (BP), Blood Sugar and BMI assessments. These screenings provided participants with an opportunity to understand some of their basic health indicators while engaging with the awareness programme.
The campaign also offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy free tastings of authentic tea served hot, creating an interactive experience that combined information, awareness and the enjoyment of genuine tea.

The initiative witnessed encouraging participation from park visitors and members of the public, with people from different age groups actively engaging in the awareness activities. Visitors appreciated the opportunity to receive useful health information while learning more about genuine tea, quality identification and responsible purchasing practices.
The organisers stated that community-focused awareness initiatives such as these will continue to be conducted at public places and transit locations, for creating greater public awareness about genuine tea and healthy living.
The event was attended by officials from the Tea Board, tea distributors and the programme organisers, who interacted with visitors and supported the awareness initiative.
