Three Arrested for Killing Peacocks for Meat in Karnataka

The Karnataka Forest Department has arrested three individuals from Odisha for allegedly killing peacocks for their meat in Maranayakanapalya village in the district. The arrested individuals, identified as Bitting Nayak, Baishak Davu, and Duba Kapat, were employed at a brick factory in the village and had been on a killing spree of peacocks, considering their meat to be “sturdy and tasty.”

Nets, trap equipment, and vessels used for cooking the meat were also recovered.
