U.P. Man Arrested in Online Part-Time Job Scam

A 20-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh has been arrested by the Cyber Crime Wing of the Central Crime Branch for his involvement in an online part-time job scam. The accused, Ridham Chawla, hailing from Gurunanak Nagar in Rae Bareli, allegedly defrauded multiple individuals by luring them with promises of online part-time jobs and collecting money from them.

The arrest came after a 35-year-old woman from Perungudi filed a complaint stating that she had fallen victim to the scam and lost ₹66 lakh. She reported being assigned tasks to promote YouTube videos as part of the job offer but was asked to pay money for the opportunity.

The accused was apprehended based on the woman’s complaint, highlighting the dangers of fraudulent online job schemes.
