Ukraine’s Leader Thanks India for Independence Day Greetings

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked India and President Droupadi Murmu for sending Independence Day greetings to the people of Ukraine. The message came as Ukraine marked its 35th Independence Day.

President Murmu shared her wishes for Ukraine and its people on social media. In response, Zelenskyy expressed his appreciation for India’s message and highlighted the importance of maintaining friendly relations between the two countries.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine wants to continue strengthening its partnership with India. He stressed the importance of dialogue and cooperation and said both countries could work together in areas that benefit their people.

The exchange of messages comes as India and Ukraine continue diplomatic discussions on their bilateral relationship. The two countries have maintained diplomatic contacts despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also thanked Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for his Independence Day message. Sybiha expressed hope that India and Ukraine could expand cooperation and develop stronger relations in the future.

India has maintained diplomatic communication with both Ukraine and other countries involved in the conflict. New Delhi has repeatedly supported dialogue and diplomacy as a way to address international conflicts.

India’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Anjani Kumar, also attended the official Independence Day celebrations in Kyiv. During the event, he conveyed India’s greetings to the Ukrainian leadership and people.

The participation of the Indian ambassador added to the diplomatic significance of the occasion. It also reflected India’s continued engagement with Ukraine despite the difficult situation in the country.

India and Ukraine have cooperation in areas including agriculture, education, pharmaceuticals, trade, and technology. Both countries have also maintained regular diplomatic contacts on regional and international issues.
