US to Provide Ukraine with Long-Range Missiles Amid Ongoing Conflict with Russia

US President Joe Biden has informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United States will send Ukraine a type of long-range missile called the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS). This system has the capability to strike targets inside Russia. Although the exact delivery date remains uncertain, the move is seen as an effort to bolster Ukraine’s fighting forces in its ongoing conflict with Russia.

The Biden administration had previously expressed concerns that Ukrainian troops might use the long-range missiles to target Russia. This announcement came after President Zelensky’s visit to Washington for discussions with President Biden, during which it was also revealed that the US would provide Ukraine with Abrams tanks.
