Victims of Shivamogga Eid Milad Violence Describe Horror of Stone Pelting Attack

Victims of the Eid Milad violence in Shivamogga City, Karnataka, recounted their terrifying ordeal as a violent mob targeted them with stone pelting during the procession. Many residents, including elders, children, and women, banded together to defend their homes with sticks and stones as the attackers sought to unleash havoc.

The miscreants targeted Hindu houses, breaking glass windows and damaging parked vehicles. Some victims described how their family members were assaulted with stones, and they barely managed to take refuge inside their homes. Police have detained over 20 individuals in connection with the violence and are pursuing others. Shivamogga has a history of communal sensitivity and previous incidents of violence.
