“Violence Escalates, Civilians Targeted in Balochistan”

A major human rights group in Pakistan has reported that at least 10 civilians were killed when Pakistani security forces opened fire on a passenger vehicle near Cadet College in Nushki district, Balochistan, yesterday.

The group, Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ), strongly condemned the attack, saying that targeting unarmed civilians is illegal and a serious violation of basic human rights. BVJ warned that such actions create fear and insecurity among ordinary people in Balochistan.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) also highlighted the rising violence in the province. According to their report, 598 people were killed in Balochistan last year, with most deaths linked to military operations and attacks on civilians.

The HRCB report provided details on the killings:

165 cases were targeted killings, where specific individuals were deliberately attacked.

104 cases were custodial killings, involving deaths in police or security custody.

66 cases involved bodies found under unclear or suspicious circumstances.

The report shows that the situation in Balochistan remains tense, with civilians often caught in the middle of ongoing military operations. Human rights groups have called for urgent action to protect innocent lives and stop violence against ordinary people.
