Woman Murdered After Sexual Harassment in MGR Nagar

A 33-year-old woman, employed as a construction worker in MGR Nagar, was brutally murdered by a 50-year-old man identified as P. Velmurugan from Tiruvottiyur. The victim had been enduring persistent sexual harassment from Velmurugan since last Friday. When she attempted to confide in her husband about the harassment, Velmurugan viciously attacked her with a hammer, resulting in fatal injuries.

Despite being rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital for treatment, the victim tragically succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday. Velmurugan was promptly apprehended by the MGR Nagar police, and the murder weapon was confiscated from him before he was remanded into judicial custody following an inquiry.
