IIT Kanpur Honors Professor With National Teaching Award

IIT Kanpur has congratulated Professor Sankar P Rath after he was selected for the National Award for Teachers 2026. The institute shared a message on social media praising his contribution to teaching and education.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 5, 2026, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu is expected to preside over the ceremony and present the awards to the selected educators.

This year, a total of 21 teachers from higher education institutions and polytechnics have been selected for the national honour. The award recognises educators who have made important contributions to teaching and helped improve the quality of education.

Among the 21 selected teachers, 12 are from central universities, five are from state universities, and four are from polytechnics. The selection includes educators from different parts of the country.
