Samsung Launches Its First Trifold Smartphone

Samsung on Thursday, January 8, 2026, showed its first-ever trifold smartphone, the Samsung Z TriFold, to the media. The South Korean tech giant had already launched the device last year in some select markets, where it is currently being sold.

The Z TriFold stands out with its large 10-inch 2X AMOLED display, offering a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and bright 1,600 nits peak brightness. The phone also has a smaller 6.5-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display, which matches the 120 Hz refresh rate but is even brighter, with 2,600 nits peak brightness.

This inward-folding phone is designed for multitasking and portability, while still offering a large screen experience when unfolded. Despite its size, the device weighs 309 grams, making it relatively light for a trifold phone.

With the Z TriFold, Samsung aims to push the boundaries of foldable smartphone technology, offering users a mix of productivity, entertainment, and innovative design.
