Could teaching be learning and sharing for the one who teaches? Yes it could be says Shihan Hussaini, a Karate connoisseur, sculpture visionary, artist and a man of varied pursuits. Hussaini started an art school in 2008 with a vision to create an atmosphere for art and train aspiring artists to Immortalize Art. His stint at Art pushed him to complete MFA in Painting and now he pursues MFA in Sculpture, Learning is a never ending process, tweets Hussaini.

What started as a sibling rivalry at a very young age set him on a mission to become an artist. During this drive to get recognition for his work of art and to get a gallery to show case his talents, he discovered that ‘creating a Market is elemental than creating an art’. This enlightenment geared him up to set up an atmosphere for art where aspiring artists could come and paint, learn, share, work and most importantly create a market for oneself.
“Teacher must work for the Student’s to learn, teaching is a sharing and re-learning experience” says Hussaini. He has set up a gallery where there are exhibitions conducted regularly and his art studio is open 24 x 7 for art enthusiasts to work, work and work.
Hussaini runs a 3 year program in Arts in which he offers 25 subjects ranging from sketching to Painting, Cartoon & Caricature, Casting & Sculpture, Scrap Metal Sculpture, Photography and many more. He believes in holistic understanding of Art. The Subjects includes two theory papers namely “History of Art and How to Market your Art”. The end of each course (subject) is followed by an exhibition, where the students exhibit their work and it also offers a platform for them to sell their art Works. He also offers cash reward of Rs.1000 every week for ‘The Most Prolific Artist’ who paints in volume.
Another highlight of this Arts Program is that there will be a special workshop conducted by an art exponent monthly once as Hussaini does not believe in teaching all by himself. “I have learned very interesting techniques and now I can play with water and color as well. I am going to paint more” says excited Manasa a student of class 5.
Hussaini is in the process of getting an affiliation from recognized universities so that he could give a certification or a diploma at the end of 3 years program, by the end of which a Student would have developed a holistic sense of ART.
