J&K Police Launch Raids on Militant Network

As part of a major operation against a suspected “militant support network,”
Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out large raids across four districts on
Wednesday. The operation mainly focused on members of the banned group
Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), which has been outlawed since 2019.

Police said they raided more than 200 places in Kulgam district on Wednesday.
In the past four days, about 400 search operations have been carried out in
different parts of South Kashmir.

These raids took place soon after a suspected terror group was discovered in
Faridabad and Saharanpur. Some members of that group were said to be from Jammu
and Kashmir.

The operation also followed the Red Fort blast, which was allegedly carried
out by Dr. Umar Nabi from Pulwama. However, police officials said there is no
confirmed connection between that blast and the current raids.
