SIT Questions Businessman in Sabarimala Gold Theft
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) questioned a businessman whose statements to senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala led to renewed scrutiny in the Sabarimala gold theft case.
The controversy involves the alleged misuse of temple gold-plated dwarapalaka idols and other valuable items. The Kerala High Court had ordered a SIT probe to investigate unexplained differences in the gold weight.
The SIT has already arrested several temple officials and associates of the main accused, Unnikrishnan Potty, and is continuing its investigation into the missing kilograms of gold from the famous Sabarimala shrine.
