Beach Drive Ends in New Year Tragedy
A New Year celebration ended in tragedy at Antarvedi Beach in Andhra Pradesh’s Ambedkar Konaseema district when a young man lost his life after an SUV drove into the sea late on Wednesday night.
According to the police, a group of young men from Kakinada had come to Antarvedi to celebrate the New Year. They are employed in the pharmaceutical sector and work in Bengaluru. After celebrating at a resort, the group decided to drive their SUV along the beach around midnight.
While taking a turn near Sagara Sangamam — the spot where the Godavari river meets the sea — the vehicle reportedly lost control and plunged into deep water. The SUV was being driven by a youth named Sridhar. He was trapped inside the vehicle and drowned.
Police said the other members of the group managed to escape. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to find out how the accident happened.
The incident has shocked local residents and tourists, casting a shadow over New Year celebrations in the area.
