Suspicious Infant Formula Pulled From French Market
France’s Health Minister, on Friday, January 23, 2026, reassured the public that all suspicious infant formula had been removed from the market. This comes as an investigation begins into the deaths of two babies who may have consumed contaminated powdered milk.
In recent weeks, several infant formula companies have recalled batches that could be contaminated with cereulide, a toxin that can cause diarrhoea, vomiting, and other health problems in infants.
Health Minister Stephanie Rist confirmed that the potentially dangerous formula has been completely withdrawn, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of all baby food products.
Parents have been advised to check the batches of formula at home and avoid using any product that has been recalled. Investigations are ongoing to determine how the contamination happened and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The government emphasized that infant safety is a top priority, and strict measures are being taken to protect babies from harmful products.
