Josh Inglis Joins LSG for IPL Boost

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are getting a big boost as Josh Inglis is set to join the team ahead of their match against Mumbai Indians on 4 May. The Australian wicketkeeper-batter missed the first half of IPL 2026 due to his wedding, which took place on 18 April. He will now travel to India and join LSG for the remaining games.

Inglis could play up to six matches if he is fit in time for the match against MI. However, whether he plays or not depends on how the team management plans their lineup. Currently, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, and Aiden Markram are the main overseas players for LSG.

Nicholas Pooran, who was a key player last season, has struggled this year. He has only scored 51 runs in six games with a low strike rate of 80. On the other hand, South Africa’s George Linde has been playing more recently and has featured in two out of LSG’s last three matches.

LSG signed Inglis for ₹8.60 crore despite him being unavailable for the first half. Meanwhile, it was reported that South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje left the team camp last week. The reason behind his departure is still unclear. Nortje played only one match this season against Delhi Capitals on 1 April and took 0/39 in four overs.

Currently, LSG are eighth in the IPL standings with four points from six matches. They will next face Rajasthan Royals on 22 April and Kolkata Knight Riders on 26 April before their crucial match against Mumbai Indians on 4 May.
