Wrong-Side U-Turns Raise OMR Risk

Motorists traveling towards Tidel Park on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) in Chennai are being advised to be extra careful near the Indira Nagar MRTS Station.
At this location, several vehicles are reportedly making wrong-side U-turns while turning right, creating a serious risk of accidents with oncoming traffic.
The problem began after the opening of the L-shaped Madhya Kailash Flyover. Following this, traffic police installed a signal near the MRTS station, located between two U-shaped flyovers on the route.
Although signboards have been placed in the area to guide drivers, some motorists continue to ignore traffic rules and take dangerous turns from the wrong side.
This has increased the possibility of collisions, especially during busy traffic hours, putting both drivers and passengers at risk.
Authorities are urging motorists to strictly follow road signs and traffic signals to avoid accidents and ensure safer travel on this busy stretch.
