TVK Nears Majority in Tamil Nadu

Vote counting is currently in progress across all 234 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu, where a party or alliance needs at least 118 seats to secure a majority and form the government.

According to the latest trends, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, is leading in 113 constituencies. This places TVK just five seats short of the majority mark, putting the party in a very strong position in its debut election.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is currently in second place, leading in 66 seats. Meanwhile, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is ahead in 37 constituencies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 2 seats, while the Indian National Congress (Congress) is ahead in 1 seat. Other parties and independent candidates are leading in the remaining constituencies.

These early numbers suggest a major political shift in Tamil Nadu, with TVK emerging as the dominant force so far. If the trend continues, TVK could either secure a full majority or become the leading party in the next government.

However, these are still early counting trends, and the final results will only be confirmed after all votes are counted. Tamil Nadu is closely watching as one of its most significant elections unfolds.
