This Is a Big Game for Both Teams: Gavaskar on DC vs CSK Clash
Mumbai, India – May 5 (ANI): Ahead of today’s important “Revenge Week” match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar shared his thoughts on what promises to be an exciting game.
Both teams are still in the running for the playoffs, making this a crucial encounter. Speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “This is a big game for both DC and CSK since they’re both fighting to make it to the playoffs.”
Gavaskar pointed out that CSK comes into the match with confidence after two straight wins against Mumbai Indians, while Delhi has also won their last game against Rajasthan Royals. However, he noted that defeating Delhi at home will be challenging.
He highlighted key players to watch for both teams. For Delhi, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in good form, and Akeal Hosein could play a crucial role with his bowling. Gavaskar suggested that if Hosein starts the game, he might trouble Delhi’s openers.
For CSK, Dewald Brevis needs to perform better, and Shivam Dube should take more responsibility with the bat. Despite these challenges, Gavaskar noted that the mood in the Chennai camp remains positive.
The match will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, where both teams are aiming for a win to stay in the playoff race. Currently, CSK is sixth and Delhi is seventh in the IPL 2026 standings with eight points each. The toss could also play a significant role in deciding the outcome.
